{"reader_html":"<h1 class=\"chapter-heading\">Job<span class=\"chapter-label\">Chapter 24<\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"1\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,1,&quot;Job&quot;)\">1<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The times are not hidden from the Almighty; even those who know him, do not know his days.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"2\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,2,&quot;Job&quot;)\">2<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Some have crossed the boundaries, plundered the flocks, and given them pasture.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"3\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,3,&quot;Job&quot;)\">3<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They have driven away the donkey of orphans, and have taken the cow from the widow as collateral.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,4,&quot;Job&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They have undermined the way of the poor, and have pressed together the meek of the earth.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,5,&quot;Job&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Others, like wild asses in the desert, go forth to their work; by watching for prey, they obtain bread for their children.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,6,&quot;Job&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They reap a field that is not their own, and they harvest a vineyard that they have taken by force.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,7,&quot;Job&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They send men away naked, having taken the clothing of those who have no covering in the cold;<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,8,&quot;Job&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">these are wet with the mountain rain, and, having no covering, they embrace the rocks.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,9,&quot;Job&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They have used violence to deprive orphans, and they have robbed the poor common people.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,10,&quot;Job&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">From the naked and those who do not have enough clothing, and from the hungry, they have taken away sheaves of grain.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,11,&quot;Job&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They take their midday rest among the stockpiles of those who, though they have trodden the winepresses, suffer thirst.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,12,&quot;Job&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">In the cities, they caused the men to groan and the spirit of the wounded to cry out, and so God does not allow this to go unpunished.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,13,&quot;Job&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They have been rebellious against the light; they have not known his ways, nor have they returned by his paths.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,14,&quot;Job&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The killer of men rises at first light; he executes the destitute and the poor, but, in truth, he is like a thief in the night.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,15,&quot;Job&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The eye of the adulterer waits for darkness, saying, “No eye will see me,” and he covers his face.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,16,&quot;Job&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He passes through houses in the nighttime, just as they had agreed among themselves in the daytime; and they are ignorant of the light.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,17,&quot;Job&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">If sunrise should suddenly appear, it is treated by them like the shadow of death; and they walk in darkness, as if in light.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,18,&quot;Job&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He is nimble on the surface of water. His place on land is to be accursed. May he not walk by way of the vineyards.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,19,&quot;Job&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">May he cross from the snowy waters to excessive heat, and his sin, all the way to hell.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,24,20,&quot;Job&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Let mercy forget him. His charm is worms.
