A Psalm of David himself. Blessed is he who shows understanding toward the needy and the poor. The Lord will deliver him in the evil day.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"2\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,19,41,2,&quot;Psalms&quot;)\">2<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">May the Lord preserve him and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth. And may he not hand him over to the will of his adversaries.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"3\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,19,41,3,&quot;Psalms&quot;)\">3<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">May the Lord bring him help on his bed of sorrow. In his infirmity, you have changed his entire covering.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,19,41,4,&quot;Psalms&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">I said, “O Lord, be merciful to me. Heal my soul, because I have sinned against you.”<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,19,41,5,&quot;Psalms&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">My enemies have spoken evils against me. When will he die and his name perish?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,19,41,6,&quot;Psalms&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And when he came in to see me, he was speaking emptiness. His heart gathered iniquity to itself. He went outside, and he was speaking in the same way.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,19,41,7,&quot;Psalms&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">All my enemies were whispering against me. They were thinking up evils against me.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,19,41,8,&quot;Psalms&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They established an unjust word against me. Will he that sleeps no longer rise again?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,19,41,9,&quot;Psalms&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For even the man of my peace, in whom I hoped, who ate my bread, has greatly supplanted me.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,19,41,10,&quot;Psalms&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">But you, O Lord, have mercy on me, and raise me up again.
