onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,1,&quot;Job&quot;)\">1<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And Eliphaz the Themanite, answered, and said:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"2\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,2,&quot;Job&quot;)\">2<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Will a wise man answer as if he were speaking in the wind, and fill his stomach with burning heat?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"3\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,3,&quot;Job&quot;)\">3<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Thou reprovest him by words, who is not equal to thee, and thou speakest that which is not good for thee.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,4,&quot;Job&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">As much as is in thee, thou hast made void fear, and hast taken away prayers from before God.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,5,&quot;Job&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For thy iniquity hath taught thy mouth, and thou imitatest the tongue of blasphemers.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,6,&quot;Job&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Thy own mouth shall condemn thee, and not I: and thy own lips shall answer thee.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,7,&quot;Job&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Art thou the first man that was born, or wast thou made before the hills ?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,8,&quot;Job&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Hast thou heard God&#039;s counsel, and shall his wisdom be inferior to thee?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,9,&quot;Job&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">What knowest thou that we are ignorant of? what dost thou understand that we know not?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,10,&quot;Job&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">There are with us also aged and ancient men, much elder than thy fathers.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,11,&quot;Job&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Is it a great matter that God should comfort thee? but thy wicked words hinder this.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,12,&quot;Job&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Why doth thy heart elevate thee, and why dost thou stare with thy eyes, as if they were thinking great things ?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,13,&quot;Job&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Why doth thy spirit swell against God, to utter such words out of thy mouth ?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,14,&quot;Job&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">What is man that he should be without spot, and he that is born of a woman that he should appear just?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,15,&quot;Job&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Behold among his saints none is unchangeable, and the heavens are not pure in his sight.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,16,&quot;Job&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">How much more is man abominable, and unprofitable, who drinketh iniquity like water?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,17,&quot;Job&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">I will shew thee, hear me : and I mill tell thee what I have seen.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,18,&quot;Job&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Wise men confess and hide not their fathers.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,19,&quot;Job&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">To whom alone the earth was given, and no stranger hath passed among them.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,20,&quot;Job&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The wicked man is proud all his days, and the number of the years of his tyranny is uncertain.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"21\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,21,&quot;Job&quot;)\">21<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The sound of dread is always in his ears: and when there is peace, he always suspecteth treason.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"22\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,22,&quot;Job&quot;)\">22<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He believeth not that he may return from darkness to light, looking round about for the sword on every side.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"23\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,23,&quot;Job&quot;)\">23<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">When he moveth himself to seek bread, he knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"24\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,24,&quot;Job&quot;)\">24<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Tribulation shall terrify him, and distress shall surround him, as a king that is prepared for the battle.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"25\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,25,&quot;Job&quot;)\">25<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For he hath stretched out his hand against God, and hath strengthened himself against the Almighty.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"26\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,26,&quot;Job&quot;)\">26<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He hath run against him with his neck raised up, and is armed with a fat neck.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"27\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,27,&quot;Job&quot;)\">27<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Fatness hath covered his face, and the fat hangeth down on his sides.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"28\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,28,&quot;Job&quot;)\">28<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He hath dwelt in desolate cities, and in desert houses that are reduced into heaps.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"29\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,29,&quot;Job&quot;)\">29<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He shall not be enriched, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall he push his root in the earth.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"30\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,30,&quot;Job&quot;)\">30<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He shall not depart out of darkness: the flame shall dry up his branches, and he shall be taken away by the breath of his own month.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"31\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,31,&quot;Job&quot;)\">31<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He shall not believe, being vainly deceived by error, that he may be redeemed with any price.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"32\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,32,&quot;Job&quot;)\">32<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Before his days be full he shall perish: and his hands shall wither away.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"33\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,33,&quot;Job&quot;)\">33<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He shall be blasted as a vine when its grapes are in the first flower, and as an olive tree that casteth its flower.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"34\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,34,&quot;Job&quot;)\">34<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For the congregation of the hypocrite is barren, and fire shall devour their tabernacles, who love to take bribes.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"35\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,15,35,&quot;Job&quot;)\">35<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He hath conceived sorrow, and hath brought forth iniquity, and his womb prepareth deceits.<\/span>
