onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,1,&quot;Job&quot;)\">1<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">But Job answered, and said:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"2\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,2,&quot;Job&quot;)\">2<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">O that my sins, whereby I have deserved wrath, and the calamity that I suffer, were weighed in a balance.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"3\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,3,&quot;Job&quot;)\">3<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">As the sand of the sea this would appear heavier: therefore my words are full of sorrow :<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,4,&quot;Job&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For the arrows of the Lord are in me, the rage whereof drinketh up my spirit, and the terrors of the Lord war against me.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,5,&quot;Job&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Will the wild ass bray when he hath grass? or will the ox low when he standeth before a full manger?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,6,&quot;Job&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Or can an unsavoury thing be eaten, that is not seasoned with salt? or can a man taste that which when tasted bringeth death?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,7,&quot;Job&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The things which before my soul would not touch, now, through anguish are my meats.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,8,&quot;Job&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Who will grant that my request may come: and that God may give me what I look for?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,9,&quot;Job&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And that he that hath begun may destroy me, that he may let loose his hand, and cut me off?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,10,&quot;Job&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And that this may be my comfort, that afflicting me with sorrow, he spare not, nor I contradict the words of the Holy One.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,11,&quot;Job&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For what is my strength, that I can hold out? or what is my end that I should keep patience?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,12,&quot;Job&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">My strength is not the strength of stones, nor is my flesh of brass.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,13,&quot;Job&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Behold there is no help for me in myself, and my familiar friends also are departed from me.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,14,&quot;Job&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He that taketh away mercy from his friend, forsaketh the fear of the Lord.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,15,&quot;Job&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">My brethren have passed by me, as the torrent that passeth swiftly in the valleys.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,16,&quot;Job&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They that fear the hoary frost, the snow shall fall upon them.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,17,&quot;Job&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">At the time when they shall be scattered they shall perish: and after it groweth hot they shall be melted out of their place.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,18,&quot;Job&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The paths of their steps are entangled: they shall walk in vain, and shall perish.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,19,&quot;Job&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Consider the paths of Thema, the ways of Saba, and wait a little while.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,20,&quot;Job&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They are confounded, because I have hoped: they are come also even unto me, and are covered with shame.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"21\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,21,&quot;Job&quot;)\">21<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Now you are come: and now seeing my affliction you are afraid.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"22\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,22,&quot;Job&quot;)\">22<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Did I say: Bring to me, and give me of your substance?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"23\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,23,&quot;Job&quot;)\">23<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Or deliver me from the hand of the enemy, and rescue me out of the hand of the mighty?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"24\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,24,&quot;Job&quot;)\">24<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Teach me, and I will hold my peace: and if I have been ignorant in any thing, instruct me.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"25\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,25,&quot;Job&quot;)\">25<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Why have you detracted the words of truth, whereas there is none of you that can reprove me?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"26\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,26,&quot;Job&quot;)\">26<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">You dress up speeches only to rebuke, and you utter words to the wind.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"27\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,27,&quot;Job&quot;)\">27<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">You rush in upon the fatherless, and you endeavour to overthrow your friend.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"28\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,28,&quot;Job&quot;)\">28<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">However finish what you have begun, give ear, and see whether I lie.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"29\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,29,&quot;Job&quot;)\">29<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Answer, I beseech you, without contention: and speaking that which is just, judge ye.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"30\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,18,6,30,&quot;Job&quot;)\">30<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And you shall not And iniquity in my tongue, neither shall
