{"reader_html":"<h1 class=\"chapter-heading\">Proverbs<span class=\"chapter-label\">Chapter 27<\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"1\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,1,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">1<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Boast not for to morrow, for thou knowest not what the day to come may bring forth.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"2\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,2,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">2<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Let another praise thee, and not thy own mouth: a stranger, and not thy own lips.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"3\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,3,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">3<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">A stone is heavy, and sand weighty: but the anger of a fool is heavier than them both.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,4,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Anger hath no mercy, nor fury when it breaketh forth: and who can bear the violence of one provoked?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,5,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Open rebuke is better than hidden love.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,6,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Better are the wounds of a friend, than the deceitful kisses of an enemy.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,7,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">A soul that is full shall tread upon the honeycomb : and a soul that is hungry shall take even bitter for sweet.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,8,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that leaveth his place.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,9,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Ointment and perfumes rejoice the heart: and the good counsels of a friend are sweet to the soul.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,10,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Thy own friend, and thy father&#039;s friend forsake not: and go not into thy brother&#039;s house in the day of thy affliction. Better is a neighbour that is near, than a brother afar off.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,11,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Study wisdom, my son, and make my heart joyful, that thou mayst give an answer to him that reproacheth.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,12,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The prudent man seeing evil hideth himself: little ones passing on have suffered losses.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,13,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Take away his garment that hath been surety for a stranger: and take from him a pledge for strangers.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,14,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He that blesseth his neighbour with a loud voice, rising in the night, shall be like to him that curseth.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,15,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Roofs dropping through in a cold day, and a contentious woman are alike.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,16,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He that retaineth her, is as he that would hold the wind, and shall call in the oil of his right hand.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,17,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Iron sharpeneth iron, so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,18,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He that keepeth the fig tree, shall eat the fruit thereof: and he that is the keeper of his master, shall be glorified.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,19,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">As the faces of them that look therein, shine in the water, so the hearts of men are laid open to the wise.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,20,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Hell and destruction are never filled: so the eyes of men are never satisfied.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"21\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,20,27,21,&quot;Proverbs&quot;)\">21<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">As silver is tried in the fining-pot and gold in the furnace: so a man is tried by the mouth of him that praiseth.
