{"reader_html":"<h1 class=\"chapter-heading\">Hebrews<span class=\"chapter-label\">Chapter 12<\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"1\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,1,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">1<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And therefore we also having so great a cloud of witnesses over our head, laying aside every weight and sin which surrounds us, let us run by patience to the fight proposed to us:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"2\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,2,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">2<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Looking on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith, who having joy set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and now sitteth on the right hand of the throne of God.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"3\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,3,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">3<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For think diligently upon him that endured such opposition from sinners against himself; that you be not wearied, fainting in your minds.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,4,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For you have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,5,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And you have forgotten the consolation, which speaketh to you, as unto children, saying: My son, neglect not the discipline of the Lord; neither be thou wearied whilst thou art rebuked by him.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,6,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth; and he scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,7,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Persevere under discipline. God dealeth with you as with his sons; for what son is there, whom the father doth not correct?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,8,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">But if you be without chastisement, whereof all are made partakers, then are you bastards, and not sons.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,9,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Moreover we have had fathers of our flesh, for instructors, and we reverenced them: shall we not much more obey the Father of spirits, and live?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,10,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And they indeed for a few days, according to their own pleasure, instructed us: but he, for our profit, that we might receive his sanctification.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,11,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Now all chastisement for the present indeed seemeth not to bring with it joy, but sorrow: but afterwards it will yield, to them that are exercised by it, the most peaceable fruit of justice.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,12,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees,<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,13,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And make straight steps with your feet: that no one, halting, may go out of the way; but rather be healed.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,14,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Follow peace with all men, and holiness: without which no man shall see God.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,15,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Looking diligently, lest any man be wanting to the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up do hinder, and by it many be defiled.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,16,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau; who for one mess, sold his first birthright.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,17,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For know ye that afterwards, when he desired to inherit the benediction, he was rejected; for he found no place of repentance, although with tears he had sought it.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,18,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For you are not come to a mountain that might be touched, and a burning fire, and a whirlwind, and darkness, and storm,<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,19,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words, which they that heard excused themselves, that the word might not be spoken to them:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,20,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For they did not endure that which was said: And if so much as a beast shall touch the mount, it shall be stoned.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"21\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,21,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">21<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And so terrible was that which was seen, Moses said: I am frighted, and tremble.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"22\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,22,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">22<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">But you are come to mount Sion, and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to the company of many thousands of angels,<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"23\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,23,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">23<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And to the church of the firstborn, who are written in the heavens, and to God the judge of all, and to the spirits of the just made perfect,<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"24\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,24,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">24<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And to Jesus the mediator of the new testament, and to the sprinkling of blood which speaketh better than that of Abel.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"25\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,19,12,25,&quot;Hebrews&quot;)\">25<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">See that you refuse him not that speaketh.
