Rottenness and worms shall inherit him, and he shall be lifted up for a greater example, and his soul shall be taken away out of the number.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,4,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He that is hasty to give credit, is light of heart, and shall be lessened: and he that sinneth against his own soul, shall be despised.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,5,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He that rejoiceth in iniquity, shall be censured, and he that hateth chastisement, shall have less life: and he that hateth babbling, extinguisheth evil.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,6,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He that sinneth against his own soul, shall repent: and he that is delighted with wickedness, shall be condemned.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,7,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Rehearse not again a wicked and harsh word, and thou shalt not fare the worse.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,8,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Tell not thy mind to friend or foe: and if there be a sin with thee, disclose it not.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,9,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For he will hearken to thee, and will witch thee, and as it were defending thy sin he will hate thee, and so will he be with thee always.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,10,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Hast thou heard a word against thy neighbour? let it die within thee, trusting that it will not burst thee.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,11,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">At the hearing of a word the fool is in travail, as a woman groaning. in the bringing forth a child.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,12,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">As an arrow that sticketh in a man&#039;s thigh: so is a word in the heart of a fool.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,13,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Reprove a friend, lest he may not have understood, and say : f did it not: or if he did it, that he may do it no more.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,14,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Reprove thy neighbour, for it may be he hath not said it: and if he hath said it, that he may not say it again.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,15,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Admonish thy friend: for there is often a fault committed.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,16,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And believe not every word. There is one, that slippeth with the tongue, but not from his heart.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,17,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For who is there that hath not offended with his tongue? Admonish thy neighbour before thou threaten him.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,18,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And give place to the fear of the most High: for the fear of God is all wisdom, and therein is to fear God, and the disposition of the law is in all wisdom.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,19,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">But the learning of wickedness is not wisdom: and the device of sinners is not prudence.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,20,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">There is a subtle wickedness, and the same is detestable: and there is a man that is foolish, wanting in wisdom.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"21\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,21,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">21<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Better is a man that hath less wisdom, and wanteth understanding, with the fear of God, than he that aboundeth in understanding, and transgresseth the law of the most High.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"22\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,22,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">22<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">There is an exquisite subtilty, and the same is unjust.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"23\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,19,23,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">23<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And there is one that uttereth an exact word telling the truth.
