{"reader_html":"<h1 class=\"chapter-heading\">Ecclesiasticus<span class=\"chapter-label\">Chapter 25<\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"1\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,1,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">1<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">WITH three things my spirit is pleased, which are approved before God and men:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"2\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,2,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">2<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The concord of brethren, and the love of neighbours, and mall and wife that agree well together.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"3\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,3,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">3<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Three sorts my soul hateth, and I am greatly grieved at their life:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,4,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">A poor man that is proud: a rich man that is a liar: an old man that is a fool, and doting.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,5,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The things that thou hast not gathered in thy youth, how shalt thou find them in thy old age?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,6,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">O how comely is judgment for a grey head, and for ancients to know counsel!<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,7,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">O how comely is wisdom for the aged, and understanding and counsel to men of honour!<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,8,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Much experience is the crown of old men, and the fear of God is their glory.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,9,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Nine things that are not to be imagined by the heart have I magnified, and the tenth I will utter to men with my tongue.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,10,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">A man that hath joy of his children: and he that liveth and seeth the fall of his enemies.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,11,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Blessed is he. that dwelleth with a wise woman, and that hath not slipped with his tongue, and that hath not served such as are unworthy of him.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,12,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Blessed is he that findeth a true friend, and that declareth justice to an ear that heareth.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,13,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">How great is he that findeth wisdom and knowledge! but there is none above him that feareth the Lord.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,14,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The fear of God hath set itself above all things:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,15,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Blessed is the man, to whom it is given to have the fear of God: he that holdeth it, to whom shall he be likened?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,16,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The fear of God is the beginning of his love: and the beginning of faith is to be fast joined unto it.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,17,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The sadness of the heart is every plague: and the wickedness of a woman is all evil.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,18,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And a man will choose any plague, but the plague of the heart:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,19,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And ally wickedness, but the wickedness of a woman:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,20,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And any affliction, but the affliction from them that hate him:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"21\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,21,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">21<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And ally revenge, but the revenge of enemies.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"22\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,22,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">22<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">There is no head worse than the head of a serpent:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"23\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,23,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">23<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And there is no anger above the anger of a woman. It will be more agreeable to abide with a lion and a dragon, than to dwell with a wicked woman.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"24\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,25,24,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">24<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The wickedness of a woman changeth her face: and she darkeneth her countenance as a bear: and sheweth it like sackcloth.
