{"reader_html":"<h1 class=\"chapter-heading\">Ecclesiasticus<span class=\"chapter-label\">Chapter 43<\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"1\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,1,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">1<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">THE firmament on high is his beauty, the beauty of heaven with its glorious shew.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"2\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,2,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">2<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The sun when he appeareth shewing forth at his rising, an admirable instrument, the work of the most High.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"3\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,3,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">3<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">At noon he burneth the earth, and who can abide his burning heat? As one keeping a furnace in the works of heat:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,4,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The sun three times as much, burneth the mountains, breathing out fiery vapours, and shining with his beams, he blindeth the eyes.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,5,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Great is the Lord that made him, and at his words he hath hastened his course.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,6,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And the moon in all in her season, is for a declaration of times and a sign of the world.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,7,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">From the moon is the sign of the festival day, a light that decreaseth in her perfection.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,8,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The month is called after her name, increasing wonderfully in her perfection<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,9,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Being an instrument of the armies on high, shining gloriously in the Armament of heaven.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,10,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The glory of the stars is the beauty of heaven; the Lord enlighteneth the world on high.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,11,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">By the words of the holy one they shall stand in judgment, and shall never fail in their watches.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,12,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Look upon the rainbow, and bless him that made it: it is very beautiful in its brightness.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,13,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">It encompasseth the heaven about with the circle of its glory, the hands of the most High have displayed it.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,14,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">By his commandment he maketh the snow to fall apace, and sendeth forth swiftly the lightnings of his judgment.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,15,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Through this are the treasures opened, and the clouds fly out like birds.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,16,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">By his greatness he hath fixed the clouds, and the hailstones are broken.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,17,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">At his sight shall the mountains be shaken, and at his will the south wind shall blow.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,18,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The noise of his thunder shall strike the earth, so doth the northern storm, and the whirlwind:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,19,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And as the birds lighting upon the earth, he scattereth snow, and the falling thereof, is as the coming down of locusts.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,20,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The eye admireth at the beauty of the whiteness thereof, and the heart is astonished at the shower thereof.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"21\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,21,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">21<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He shall pour frost as salt upon the earth: and when it freezeth, it shall become like the tops of thistles.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"22\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,22,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">22<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The cold north wind bloweth, and the water is congealed into crystal; upon every gathering together of waters it shall rest, and shall clothe the waters as a breastplate.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"23\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,23,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">23<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And it shall devour the mountains, and burn the wilderness, and consume all that is green as with fire.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"24\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,24,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">24<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">A present remedy of all is the speedy coming of a cloud, and a dew that meeteth it, by the heat that cometh, shall overpower it.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"25\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,25,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">25<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">At his word the wind is still, and with his thought he appeaseth the deep, and the Lord hath planted islands therein.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"26\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,26,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">26<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Let them that sail on the sea, tell the dangers thereof: and when we hear with our ears, we shall admire.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"27\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,27,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">27<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">There are great and wonderful works: a variety of beasts, and of all living things, and the monstrous creatures of whales.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"28\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,28,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">28<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Through him is established the end of their journey, and by his word all things are regulated.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"29\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,29,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">29<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">We shall say much, and yet shall want words: but the sum of our words is, He is all.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"30\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,30,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">30<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">What shall we be able to do to glorify him? for the Almighty himself is above all his works.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"31\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,31,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">31<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">The Lord is terrible, and exceeding great, and his power is admirable.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"32\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,32,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">32<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Glorify the Lord as much as ever you can, for he will yet far exceed, and his magnificence is wonderful.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"33\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,33,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">33<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Blessing the Lord, exalt him as much as you can: for he is above all praise.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"34\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,34,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">34<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">When you exalt him put forth all your strength, and be not weary: for you can never go far enough.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"35\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,35,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">35<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Who shall see him, and declare him? and who shall magnify him as he is from the beginning?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"36\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,36,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">36<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">There are many things hidden from us that are greater than these: for we have seen but a few of his works.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"37\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,43,37,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">37<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">But the Lord hath made all things, and to the godly he hath given wisdom.<\/span> <\/p>\n<div class=\"bottom-nav\"><a href=\"\/drb\/3\/5\/42\" class=\"nav-btn-lg nav-ajax\">&lsaquo;
