And who can glory like to thee?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,5,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Who raisedst onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,6,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Who broughtest down kings to destruction, and brokest easily their power in pieces, and the glorious from their bed.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,7,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Who heardest judgment in Sina, and in Horeb the judgments of vengeance.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,8,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Who anointedst kings to penance, and madest prophets successors after thee.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,9,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Who wast taken up in a whirlwind of fire, in a chariot of fiery horses.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,10,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Who art registered in the judgments of times to appease the wrath of the Lord, to reconcile the heart of the father to the son, and to restore the tribes of Jacob.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,11,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Blessed are they that saw thee, and were honoured with thy friendship.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,12,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For we live only in our life, but after death our name shall not be such.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,13,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Elias was indeed covered with the whirlwind, and his spirit was filled up in Eliseus: in his days he feared not the prince, and no man was more powerful than he.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,14,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">No word could overcome him, and after death his body prophesied.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,15,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">In his life he did great wonders, and is death he wrought miracles.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,16,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For all this the people repented not, neither did they depart from their sins till they were cast out of their land, and were scattered through all the earth.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,17,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And there was left but a small people, and a prince in the house of David.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,18,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Some of these did that which pleased God: but others committed many sine.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,19,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Ezechias fortified his city, and brought in water into the midst thereof, and he digged a rock with iron, and made a well for water.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,20,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">In his days Sennacherib came up, and sent Rabsaces, and lifted up his hand against them, and he stretched out his hand against Sion, and became proud through his power.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"21\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,21,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">21<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Then their hearts and hands trembled, and they were in pain as women in travail.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"22\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,22,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">22<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And they called upon the Lord who is merciful, and spreading their hands, they lifted them up to heaven: and the holy Lord God quickly heard their voice.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"23\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,23,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">23<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He was not mindful of their sins, neither did he deliver them up to their enemies, but he purified them by the hand of Isaias, the holy prophet.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"24\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,24,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">24<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He overthrew the army of the Assyrians, and the angel of the Lord destroyed them.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"25\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,25,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">25<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For Ezechias did that which pleased God, and walked valiantly in the way of David his father, which Isaias, the great prophet, and faithful in the sight of God, had commanded him.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"26\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,26,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">26<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">In his days the sun went backward, and he lengthened the king&#039;s life.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"27\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,27,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">27<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">With a great spirit he saw the things that are to come to pass at last, and comforted the mourners in Sion.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"28\" onclick=\"loadParallel(3,5,48,28,&quot;Sirach&quot;)\">28<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He shewed what should come to pass for ever, and secret things before they came.<\/span> <\/p>\n<div
