{"reader_html":"<h1 class=\"chapter-heading\">Hosea<span class=\"chapter-label\">Chapter 7<\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><span class=\"dropcap-wrap\" data-v=\"1\"><span class=\"dropcap\" title=\"Compare verse 1 across translations\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,1,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">W<\/span>hen I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim was discovered, and the wickedness of Samaria: for they commit falsehood; and the thief cometh in, and the troop of robbers spoileth without.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"2\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,2,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">2<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"3\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,3,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">3<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princes with their lies.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,4,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They are all adulterers, as an oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,5,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">In the day of our king the princes have made him sick with bottles of wine; he stretched out his hand with scorners.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,6,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whiles they lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the night; in the morning it burneth as a flaming fire.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,7,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">They are all hot as an oven, and have devoured their judges; all their kings are fallen: there is none among them that calleth unto me.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,8,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the people; Ephraim is a cake not turned.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,9,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Strangers have devoured his strength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairs are here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,10,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And the pride of Israel testifieth to his face: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,11,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Ephraim also is like a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,12,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">When they shall go, I will spread my net upon them; I will bring them down as the fowls of the heaven; I will chastise them, as their congregation hath heard.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(1,28,7,13,&quot;Hosea&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Woe unto them!
