Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,13,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,14,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,15,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,16,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,17,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,18,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,19,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,20,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"21\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,21,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">21<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"22\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,22,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">22<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And while they abode in Galilee, Jesus said unto them, The Son of man shall be betrayed into the hands of men:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"23\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,23,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">23<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And they shall kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"26\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,1,17,26,&quot;Matthew&quot;)\">26<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Peter saith unto him, Of strangers.
