Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"4\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,4,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">4<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"5\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,5,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">5<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"6\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,6,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">6<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"7\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,7,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">7<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"8\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,8,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">8<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"9\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,9,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">9<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Cometh this blessedness then upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"10\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,10,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">10<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">How was it then reckoned? when he was in circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"11\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,11,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">11<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"12\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,12,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">12<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"13\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,13,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">13<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"14\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,14,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">14<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith is made void, and the promise made of none effect:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"15\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,15,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">15<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"16\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,16,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">16<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Therefore it is of faith, that it might be by grace; to the end the promise might be sure to all the seed; not to that only which is of the law, but to that also which is of the faith of Abraham; who is the father of us all,<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"17\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,17,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">17<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"18\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,18,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">18<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"19\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,19,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">19<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sarah&#039;s womb:<\/span> <\/p>\n<p class=\"verse-para\"><sup class=\"vnum\" data-v=\"20\" onclick=\"loadParallel(2,6,4,20,&quot;Romans&quot;)\">20<\/sup><span class=\"vtext\">He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief;
